The Habit that Holds You is an argumentative style letter to a podcast company proposing the idea for sponsorship. All of the letter is fictive, but I had to choose “hosts” for the show and determine what each episode would look like. This is mad cringe. But if I’m going to share some of my work with the world, it would be biased if I didn’t show some of my worst work as well since ya don’t get 90+ all the time! It’s taken me two high school math classes to figure that out!
2019-10-07 Les arbres du Nouveau-Brunswick ScENV 11
This research project consisted on me taking different pictures of different trees and using a reference book to determine its age and species. Was really fun and I can now kinda distinguish the books in my backyard! I also had to describe invasive species and endangered species of flora. Brought me outside and was a great learning experience.
2019-12-15 Gaïa ScENV 11
This was an interesting project I did for my environmental sciences class. I and my teammates implemented a plan for waste reduction at our local cafe. It was awesome to see that we could create plans to change for the better by starting within the school.
2019-05-06 Syndrome de Münchausen par Procuration FPS10
This was a riveting project I had done for my social studies class! The Munchausen syndrome by proxy (or MSBP) is a syndrome that always interested me and this project permitted me to do a lot more research on the topic. Even though I’m done high school, this work is still fun for me to reread, not only because I worked hard on these projects, but also because I’m re-learning things I forgot, or giving others the opportunity to read up if they want lol!
2019-05-23 Zéro Déchets, Multiples Bienfaits FR10
This essay is on the dangers of plastic pollution and the benefits of zero waste living, as said in the title. I personally care about this mission a lot and when given the opportunity to outwardly bash the girls who called themselves “eco warriors” in my French class but who bought every single plastic item available at Tim’s during lunch everyday, how could I resist!? But also, education is important and I was surprised to discover that many in my class had never even heard of micro-plastics, which are now a primary component of our everyday lives, even though they may not always be visible to the human eye. Very fun research project!
2019-05-28 Immunity Gone Bad ENGL 10
Immunity Gone Bad was another Survivor themed essay I had to write. This one was not argumentative however, but rather a newspaper article format. This was actually super tricky for me to do since I am usually a lengthy writer but this assignment had to be short and concise but still straight to the point. Short paragraphs were also weird and new to me at this stage.
2019-04-13 Experience Enhances Performance ENGL 10
This argumentative essay was based of the reality tv show Survivor, since we had watched it in class. I was assigned to write an argumentative essay showing who, in my opinion, would take the win this season. (If I remember correctly, I was very wrong so don’t put money on me guessing the winner of Survivor anytime soon.)
2019-04-02 Degrading Others for Self-Validation ENGL 10
Degrading Others for Self-Validation is a essay and presentation I did for this class. I believe it was based off an article I had to read. This was definitely not one of my favorites, mainly because it was an oral presentation; but also because I always found my writing here kinda dull.
